This starter is more expensive because I had the armature rewound and rebuilt.
its like brand new.
This starter works extremely well. It's nice & strong and will last another 30 years. The expense is high, but so is the quality of my work.
Condition:
It has been rebuilt. Here is what was done on this one, and in general.
1. I took this starter apart and inspect all the parts.
2. I inspect and replace the brushes with new ones when they are needed.

Had the armature re-wound & balanced & had the commutator turned so the armature is like brand new. This was quite expensive, but will make the starter like new.
4. I lightly washed the outside of all the pieces & the inside of the ones that were safe to do so.
5. I replaced the bearing with the correct oem bearing.
6. I lubricated the bushing that the armature rides in.
7. I put back together & tested for torque and proper working order.
8. I marked the starter so that if it was opened up, it voids the warranty. we have had thefts of internal parts. sad, right?
This starter is warrantied for 6 months.  It should in all reality last another 30 years pretty easily.  Just make sure that when you start you start for 15 seconds & then let cool down for 30 seconds. After doing this three times, let it cool down for 15-20 minutes. If your motor does not start easily, do a tune up & if that does not help, check compression. if compression is low, replace the rings.

There is a core charge of that i will refund upon the return of your non-working starter motor. In order to qualify for a full core refund, your starter motor must have these three main parts.
1. The body. core charge value
2. The Front face that has the part where you put the power wire onto. It needs to be complete & have all the little parts from inside. core charge value
3. The 10 tooth armature, if you send a 11 tooth armature, the core will be 50-0%. This is the item that you can see outside the starter motor that has the splines. The armature cannot be burned up. if it is, I will deduct from the core charge.  core charge value
The starter motor does not have to work. It just has to have all these parts.
If one or more of these parts are ruined and cannot be used at all, i will contact you and we can discuss it, its rare that any part is ruined unless they have been opened up by someone who doesn't
know what they are doing. Or the armature has been burned up because of working the starter too hard.
Return shipping for your core:
I will provide a prepaid label to send the motor back to me free of charge. Just stick the motor in the package, slap the shipping label on and drop off at the post office.
